What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a healing practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Ultra-fine needles are placed at specific points to encourage the flow of energy, or Qi. The aim is balance, relaxation, and support for the body’s own capacity to heal.

Is acupuncture safe?

Yes, when it is performed by a trained and licensed practitioner. At Sadanan the needles are sterile, single-use and extremely fine.

What does acupuncture feel like?

Most people describe it as deeply calming. You may notice a brief sensation as a needle goes in, then warmth, tingling, heaviness or a gentle movement. Those sensations are expected, and they often give way to rest.

How long does an acupuncture session last?

A session typically lasts around 60 minutes, with time for consultation, treatment and rest. The needles usually stay in for 15–30 minutes while you relax. Health acupuncture is also offered as a 60 or 90 minute session.

How will I feel after my treatment?

You may feel deeply relaxed, emotionally lighter, mentally clear, gently tired as the body settles, or mildly aware of the muscles that were treated. These responses are natural and temporary.

Drink plenty of water, move gently, and avoid alcohol or intense activity afterwards.

How many treatments will I need?

The plan is personal. Chronic or long-standing concerns typically need 1–2 sessions a week for a period of time. Acute conditions may need fewer. For maintenance, the clinic suggests about 4 sessions a year to support balance and vitality.

What is cupping therapy?

Glass cups are placed on the skin using suction. The technique is used to release tension, stimulate circulation and support the body’s own clearing processes. Temporary redness or circular marks may appear. They usually fade within 3–7 days. A cupping session is about 15–20 minutes.

What is moxibustion?

Moxibustion uses gentle heat from burning mugwort, called moxa, near specific acupuncture points. The warmth is used to support circulation, strengthen energy and nourish the body.

Can acupuncture support anti-aging and skin health?

Facial acupuncture is the clinic’s natural approach to skin rejuvenation. By supporting circulation, collagen and internal balance, it may help soften fine lines, improve skin tone and restore a healthy glow. The clinic’s phrasing is that beauty is cultivated from within. Results vary, and a consultation is the place to ask whether it fits you.

What is facial acupuncture?

Facial acupuncture is a skin rejuvenation treatment using ultra-fine needles on the face and body. It supports circulation, collagen and overall balance, and is used to bring out the skin’s natural radiance.

What are facial gua sha treatments?

The clinic describes a holistic facial as facial acupuncture combined with therapeutic massage and wellness techniques. The approach is meant to support the nervous system, emotional balance and internal health, so that the change in the face follows from that.

What are the benefits of facial acupuncture and facial gua sha?

The clinic says these treatments may help to:

  • soften fine lines and wrinkles
  • improve skin tone, texture and elasticity
  • enhance natural glow and vitality
  • reduce facial tension and jaw tightness
  • promote deep relaxation and general wellbeing
How will my skin feel after a facial gua sha treatment?

Many people notice an immediate glow, better hydration, and a lifted, relaxed feeling. With regular sessions, the clinic says the result continues to build.

How many facial gua sha treatments are recommended?

An initial series is recommended, followed by maintenance every 4–6 weeks to keep the skin’s radiance. The clinic does not publish a fixed number for that first series — ask at your consultation.
